Another thing it made me think of, esp with the generational succession of the vision, however possibly not so much related, is how some ancient cultures would do various cutting rituals for certain transformational purposes..especially in youth, boy emerging to manhood…like the Australian aboriginal boys, after they reached a certain age, would perform rituals that culminated in cutting a deep line on the under side of their penis in order to bleed and reconcile with the Feminine by emulating her.
